These general terms and conditions are in effect starting February 1, 2014, and are regularly reviewed and updated.
Acceptance of these general terms and conditions implies the participant’s acceptance on their behalf and on behalf of all persons for whom they make the reservation.
1. Website.
Please use this website as a general guide. Its content has been carefully prepared. The Organizer is not responsible for any omissions or errors that may occur.
2. Location.
For the purposes of this document, MONASTERIES refers to both the monastery of Garraf, Olivella, Barcelona, as well as the monastery of Castellón, Vall d’Alba, Castellón (only open to the public for arranged activities), both in Spain, and the monastery of Cusco, Sacred Valley, Caicay, Cusco, in Peru (not open to the public).
These terms and conditions mainly refer to the activity offered at the Garraf monastery, which is open to the public.
3. General Clauses.
3.1 Animals and pets.
Domestic animals and pets are welcome in the freely accessible areas of the monasteries, provided they are leashed and their owners take responsibility to ensure they do not disturb other people or damage the premises. They are also welcome on the monastery terraces where the restaurant is located.
For this purpose, we have a water bowl for pets (dogs, cats) in the Lemon Tree courtyard.
On guided tours, pets can only enter the palace if their owner can carry them in their arms. For other proposed activities, such as the introduction to Buddhist meditation class and retreats, animals are not allowed in the training room.
3.2. Safety of children or minors
Parents or caregivers must ensure that children are under the care of a responsible adult at all times during their stay at the monasteries. The monasteries have no responsibility for the care of children or minors.
Children under twelve are welcome to take the guided tour accompanied by their caregiver; the introductory Buddhist meditation class and retreats are activities designed for adults.
3.3 Loss or damage to monastery property.
In case of physical damage and/or any deterioration caused by negligence or intentionally affecting the belongings or facilities of the monasteries, the participant agrees to report it as soon as possible, addressing the organization’s supervisor if available or, otherwise, the team in the bookstore. They will be responsible for the costs of repair, replacement, or restoration of any damage or deterioration resulting from that action.
3.4 Personal belongings.
The monasteries will take all reasonable measures to ensure that visitors and their belongings are safe. However, the visitor is responsible for ensuring they keep their money and valuables with them.
Neither the organizers nor the center, its employees or volunteers will be responsible for any damage or loss of property, valuables or money of any description including (but not limited to) luggage, jewelry, documents, motor vehicles and electronic equipment, or other goods in general.
3.5 Automobiles.
Automobiles of participants staying at the monasteries and visitors in general must be parked in the parking area provided by the monasteries. The monasteries do not offer surveillance service; all automobiles are parked at the owner’s or participant’s responsibility.
4. Contracts for visits, classes, retreats, and activities in general
All activity contracts or reservations are made with the ORGANIZING entity.
The activity contract or reservation will be completed after the corresponding payment has been made. Activities can be booked through the website www.monjesbudistas.org or, in person, at the monastery’s bookstore and shop, subject to availability.
By making the reservation, you accept that you have the authority to bind all persons included in your group reservation to these general terms and conditions. The person making the reservation is fully and exclusively responsible for the accuracy of all the data provided.
Places for all activities are limited and reservations are made in the order they are received. Discounts on the price of experience packages are applied exclusively when contracted through the website www.monjesbudistas.org.
5. Changes or cancellation by the organizers due to force majeure.
In the event that the ORGANIZING Entity communicates the cancellation or annulment of reservations or activities due to force majeure, the reservation will be canceled and will proceed according to the ordinary administrative procedure.
Force majeure cases are considered if the cancellation is due to: (1) medical reasons that prevent the proper execution of the activity and a doctor provides certification, (2) extreme medical causes of a first-degree relative and a doctor provides certification, (3) civil obligations imposed by authorities after the date of making the reservation, (4) unexpected death of a first-degree relative.
In case such circumstances occur, it will be communicated, if possible, by email to info@monjesbudistas.org or by phone, from Wednesday to Sunday from 10:00-16:00, at 937 432 010.
6. Cancellation and refund policy.
Guided Tour, Introduction to Buddhist Meditation Class, and Experience Packages
Guided Tour and Introduction to Meditation Class reservations are regular activities that allow date changes at the visitor’s request but do not allow refunds. In this regard, users who have the status of consumers may not exercise the right of withdrawal provided for in Royal Decree Law 1/2007, of November 16, which approves the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, given that the Tickets have the character of a recreational service with a scheduled day and date.

Inner Peace Retreat
According to Article 102 of Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007, of November 16, which approves the revised text of the General Law for the Defense of Consumers and Users, the client may exercise their right of withdrawal within a period of 14 calendar days from the date of formalization of the Inner Peace Retreat reservation. The exercise of the right of withdrawal will not be subject to any formality, it being sufficient for the client to communicate their will within the period indicated above, and may use the email info@monjesbudistas.org for this purpose, where they will be informed of the procedure to follow to process the return of the material or the withdrawal from the Inner Peace Retreat. The costs derived from returns or changes will be borne by the client.
If, after the withdrawal period has elapsed, the client wishes to cancel the reservation for an Inner Peace Retreat, they can do so by notifying via email to info@monjesbudistas.
The amount to be refunded in the cancellation of the Inner Peace Retreat will vary according to the cancellation date and the date of reservation made:
6 days or more before the start of the event: the reservation amount will be refunded, deducting €50 for management fees.
5 days before the event: No refund will be made.
Up to two date changes will be accepted within a maximum period of six months, the period starts counting from the date of the first reservation. At the end of the six months, the unused reservation will expire without the right to claim and without the right to return or refund.
Failure to use accommodation or meal services does not exempt from full payment of the agreed rate. Late arrival or early departure will not generate any right to a refund.
Learn to Meditate Training (training cycles)
The Learn to Meditate training given at the Institute of Consciousness, an academic unit of Sakya Tashi Ling Buddhist Monks (ORGANIZING entity), consists of the training cycles of Fundamentals of Meditation, Four Noble Truths, and the four texts of the Mahayana stage. The admission process is carried out before registration for each of the cycles.
The reservation of a place in the educational cycle is made once the registration payment has been formalized in any of its available payment methods.
The cancellation policy applies to every student who has formalized the registration by paying the enrollment fee in the educational cycle The Foundations of Meditation.
For those students enrolled in subsequent cycles of the program to the aforementioned, no refunds are allowed, as they are active students of the Institute of Consciousness.

Corporate and Social Group Activities
Date changes for reservations for activities or stays of corporate groups or social groups can be made within a maximum period of one month from the first reservation date.
Cancellations are accepted up to 7 days before the reservation date. 50% of the payment made as acceptance of the offer is non-refundable.
Dining Reservations
For groups of 6 or more people, 50% advance payment of the reservation will be requested.
The reservation date can be changed or canceled without penalty up to 7 days before the reserved date. In case of cancellation, 50% of the advance payment is non-refundable.
7. Behavior During Activities
The ORGANIZING ENTITY reserves the right of admission. Any person whose behavior causes discomfort or disruption of public order will be asked to leave the premises. If necessary, law enforcement agents will be called.
Likewise, when accessing the Sakya Tashi Ling monasteries, in addition to respecting the environment and coexistence with the people in them, during your stay you agree not to engage in the following behaviors:
Additionally, people who enter the Palace, chapel, or Meditation Room during activities must refrain from taking photographs inside these spaces.
Furthermore, we ask you to comply with the following Buddhist precepts during your participation in any event and/or stay at the monasteries:
Any person who, due to inappropriate behavior, must leave the monasteries will not be entitled to any refund or claim of any kind.
8. Accessibility, Health Issues, Nutrition
If you have any disability or illness that may require special assistance during your visit to the monastery, it is essential that you inform the organizers by sending an email prior to your visit to info@monjesbudistas.org.
The organizers, according to their best judgment and with the aim of facilitating the participant’s attendance, will assess whether they have the conditions to provide the requested assistance or special conditions required to ensure the health and comfort of the participant.
The restaurant, as well as complementary hospitality services during retreats or other activities, offers both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. Unfortunately, we cannot offer menus with special dietary requirements or restrictions. In cases of people who have dietary restrictions due to medical and health reasons, they must assess on their own the suitability of eating the food offered at the monastery. We understand that by making the reservation, every person has been informed of this and assumes the risk of eating the proposed foods. On the restaurant menu, we indicate the allergens of each suggested food. Likewise, the visitor exempts the ORGANIZERS from all responsibility in this regard.
