A Triple-Benefit Methodology

One of the greatest challenges for a human being in evolution is the search for balance between two essential aspects of life: the transcendent dimension of the self and its worldly counterpart. This balance is often lost or difficult to achieve within lifestyles dominated by the whirlwind of modernity.

The Philosophy of the Middle Way

The philosophy of the Middle Way (Madhyamaka) is one of the core teachings in Buddhism. However, the idea of seeking balance and avoiding extremes is a principle that resonates across many philosophies and cultures. From Aristotle’s “golden mean” to the Confucian emphasis on moderation and harmony, and even in everyday common sense, the notion that avoiding extremes is a form of practical wisdom applies to decision-making, conflict resolution, and lifestyle.

In essence, in Buddhism, the Middle Way is an invitation to cultivate moderation, balance, and wisdom in order to evolve in life. It encourages the avoidance of extremes that lead to suffering and supports a path toward inner peace and self-realization.

Triple Benefit

One of the greatest challenges for a human being in evolution is the search for balance between two essential aspects of life: the transcendent dimension of the self and its worldly counterpart. This balance is often lost or difficult to achieve within lifestyles dominated by the whirlwind of modernity.

Aware of this crucial difficulty, Jamyang Dorje Rinpoche and Kutsab Dorje, drawing from more than 40 years of experience integrating Eastern and Western worldviews, have developed their own methodology. It is rooted in the analytical rigor of the Middle Way philosophy and the practice of Buddhist meditation, and focuses on an interdependent development of the human, social, and sustainable dimensions of the self, all centered on the Common Good.

Triple Benefit Methodology™ provides students with a systemic and systematic process of study, reflection, research, and meditation, oriented toward the development of three core benefits: personal benefit, social benefit, and economic benefit. These are explored from an understanding of the deep interconnection and interdependence between them, and in full awareness of life’s multidimensionality and uncertainty.
