Colònia Agrícola Plana Novella

Triple Benefit

Recovering and Protecting Cultural and Natural Heritage

Agriculture has a profound impact on the environment, and its legacy is deeply intertwined with the care we must maintain towards people and our planet. The recovery of natural heritage is a vital process that helps communities reconnect with their past and preserve the environment for future generations. The recovery project of Colònia Agrícola Plana Novella aims to be a testament to the importance of sustainable agricultural practices that protect biodiversity and cultural heritage, safeguarding natural landscapes that are true treasures.

History, Reinterpretation and Benefit

In 1890, Pere Doménech and María Vilanova established the Colònia Agrícola Plana Novella in the heart of Garraf. A century after their departure and the abandonment of the Colònia, the Buddhist Community made it their home to open its doors to all those who wish to approach.

Participants in the ritual perform the following practices, thus aligning the three doors - body, speech, and mind - in the same direction.

THE RECITATION OF MANTRAS

Mantra means protection of the mind. Its recitation evokes and strengthens the mental states that practitioners wish to cultivate. Written in ancient languages, in addition to their virtuous meaning, their sound has an inherent power related to the vibration they generate in the subtle body.

THE MUDRAS

Symbols that practitioners make with their hands that help them concentrate in a single-pointed way on their object of meditation.

RITUAL INSTRUMENTS AND OBJECTS

Ritual participants rely on material objects that serve as support to place their mind: Musical instruments, incense, water, flowers, rice… All of these serve them to carry out learning based on the symbolic that reaches the depth of emotional experience and the subconscious.

VISUALIZATION

Practitioners visualize images of Buddhas described in great detail in the sutras they recite. The Buddhas are archetypes that represent the mental qualities they wish to cultivate.

Recovering Spaces and Healthy Traditions

LOREM IPSUM AMET LOREM

A community of lay Yogis and meditators inspired by the ancient wisdom of the middle way philosophy and the sciences of meditation. Faithful to the teachings of Lord Buddha and true Dharma Masters, the community affirms and spreads the virtues of benevolence, compassion, equanimity, and altruism as the highest values of a society committed to the common good.

As guardians of our spiritual home, we are dedicated to the laborious task of rehabilitating and recovering natural and cultural heritage, preserving historical memory and sources of spirituality as a legacy for future generations.
